TRANSLATOR

Hi!! I am Vicky and, this week, I am the translator of the group.

This week, this task has consisted of doing a collection of what we have learnt during the course. To this end, we have used a magazine cover and, in order to avoid the repetition of some old tasks' concepts, here you have some concepts related to our work and the classroom of last Wednesday.

1. Magazine: is a kind of publication which is published regularly (every day, weeks, months...). It contains a cover and includes pictures, articles, interviews, advertisements, talking about different topics, events and people. In addition, its aim is to entertain the readers instead of informing them about news. There are many types of magazines directed to particular lectors, and that are focused on a specific subject related to science, history, gossips, politics, literature...

2. Magazine Cover: as its name indicates, it is a cover of a magazine that appears in the first page of the magazine. It usually incorporates photographs and summarize the most important content found inside and attract to the readers to buy the magazine. Depending on what type of information it wants to transmit, the cover will have specific characteristics and design.

3. Magazine Sections: each one of the parts that a magazine is divided into. Every section is focused on a specific subject such as culture, gossip, literature, economy , education... For that reason, it contains the information related to that subject. For example, in the literature section, it will only appear news or articles about textbooks, literature prizes or writers.

4. Headlines: it is each one of the titles in the magazine. They introduce the content with an attractive phrase that should encourage readers to read it. With the purpose of being striking, they appear in bold and, with capital letters or in a bigger size than the article.

5. Non formal learning: it is what students learn without being expressed in the curriculum but it actually contributes to develop their skills or knowledge. For example, we have introduced it in our Magazine Cover when we say that we have learnt to use the Kahoot.

6. Superhero comic is a comic style about an adventure story where the main character is a superhero. It is common from American comic books.

7. Photo novel  is a kind of comic made from photographs and based on the traditional structure of the comic, including conversations in balloons or different vignettes that tell us a story.

8. Auca. It is a kind of comic very popular in Cataluña that is usually consists of a page divided by 48 images of the same size and includes a short phrase under each image.

9. Before and after perspective. It is a type of comic which shows in the same image vignette the before and after of a situation through a combination of text and images. It also can include balloons.

10. Cave art also called ''parietal art'' is characterized by cave paintings, as its name specifies. It originated from the Prehistory and it is usually painted with red color on the walls of the cave.

11. Graphic novel:is a book that tells a story with the comic-script format.
